Memorial, Prayer Vigil, and Press Conference Monday at 9am

Germantown, MD, February 9, 2013 – A Memorial, Prayer Vigil, and in-depth Press Conference will be held Monday in Germantown, MD, to mourn the death of the 29 year old killed by Leroy Carhart on Thursday. The event will begin at 9am Monday morning, February 11, and will be held in an open area adjacent to Germantown Reproductive Health Services (GHRS), the office where Carhart performs late-term abortions.

The address of GRHS is 13233 Executive Park Terrace, Germantown, MD 20874, but that office is located in an office park that is on private property. The event will take place just next to the office park on Wisteria Lane. Additional details about the event and a detailed map of the area is available at

Organizations, Church leaders, and citizens will gather together to mourn the death of a young woman who died from complications of a 3rd trimester abortion conducted by LeRoy Carhart. The young woman was taken to the Emergency Room at Shady Grove Adventist hospital Thursday morning when she became short of breath and experienced intense pain, where she eventually died due to massive blood loss and hemorrhagic shock. The young woman attempted to contact Carhart first, but he had already left town and was unreachable for follow-up care.

Representatives of Priests for Life, Alliance Defending Freedom, 40 Days for Life, the Family Research Council, Students for Life, Operation Rescue, Rock for Life, the Christian Defense Coalition, the National Black Pro-Life Union, the Maryland Family Alliance, the Archdiocese of Washington DC, several local churches and pastors, and many others will join the Maryland Coalition for Life on Monday.

Germantown, MD, February 8, 2013 – A 29 year-old woman was pronounced dead at a local hospital in Rockville, MD on Thursday, February 7th, as a direct result of complications experienced during a 3rd trimester abortion by LeRoy Carhart – who was hailed as a “hero” in the film “After Tiller” at the recent Sundance Film Festival.

The young woman arrived at Carhart’s Germantown, MD, abortion facility – Germantown Reproductive Health Services – Sunday evening to begin a risky, four-day, third-trimester abortion. She was approximately 33 weeks pregnant.

Witnesses say that the young woman appeared “pale and weak” when she returned to the clinic Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for the remaining steps of the late-term abortion.

Thursday morning around 5am, the young woman was short of breath and in intense pain. When she and her family tried to contact LeRoy Carhart for assistance and follow-up care, he could not be reached. The young woman was transported to a local hospital Emergency Room by private vehicle.

By 10am Thursday, the young woman “coded” 6 times, and had to be revived by Emergency personnel. Due to immense blood loss and hemorrhagic shock, her body was unable to recover, and she was pronounced dead.

The Maryland Medical Examiner spent a significant amount of time reviewing the case and the records at the hospital on Thursday, and determined the case needed further investigation due to the unusual circumstances of her death.

All information was provided to MDCFL on condition of anonymity, and by an extremely credible, confidential source.

“It is so tragic that this family had to lose not only their nearly full-term child, but also their wife, daughter, and sister,” said Michael Martelli, Executive Director of the Maryland Coalition for Life. “What is most appalling is that the State of Maryland refused to hear the pleas of this community, and has allowed this man to continue to butcher women and children.”

On the very same day that this woman died, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene posted on their website that they issued a license to Carhart’s clinic to perform abortions – without a single inspection of the facility.

“He already killed Christin Gilbert in Kansas in 2005, and now another senseless tragedy has come as a result of Carhart’s so-called women’s healthcare and the apathy of the pro-abortion Maryland State Government,” said Martelli.

A prayer vigil, memorial, and follow-up press conference will be held in Germantown at 9am on Monday, February 11, just next to the office park where Carhart conducted the third trimester abortion. More information about the event and location is available at

Time to Help One of Our Own

Your kindness and generosity have made a huge difference in the Fight for Life here in Maryland. Countless women, men, and children have been touched by the MD Coalition for Life, and their lives have been saved or improved directly because of you and your willingness to help!

Ginnie Robertson

Now it’s time to help one of our own! Ginnie Robertson has been volunteering for the MD Coalition for Life as our Communications Coordinator for almost a year now, helping out with website posts, press releases, phone contacts, etc.

However, she recently lost her “day job”. She has lost her home and is in a shelter called Shepherd’s Cove. Ginnie is in desperate need of a new computer related part-time job, working @ 10 hours per week, that could preferably be done remotely/electronically. She really needs to get a job and get some income coming in again so she can be out of the shelter by April.

If you have any work, or know of a company that could use her assistance with computer work, please let me know right away so I can get you in touch with Ginnie. Let’s pull together and see if we can help out this Pro-Life sister in her time of need.

Thank you again for your consistent willingness to help others!

Journal of Public Health Issues Pro-Abortion Article

“It Is Time to Integrate Abortion Into Primary Care” was published with little fanfare on January 13, 2013 as written by Susan Yarrow, an MSW, not an MD.  Her shortcomings to write medical literature become clear when reviewing statistics.  She quotes Hensaw, who literally wrote the book on making abortion a public health issue,  “Abortion is now one of the safest medical procedures available; only 0.3% of abortion patients experience a complication that requires hospitalization.”  The problem is; (1) Henshaw is only talking about complications resulting in hospital admission, others would be unreported here because they are treated in an office or treated and released (2) the documenting health care professional may not relate the event such as a secondary infection or a slow bleed, to the abortion, (i.e. the patient is in shock due to hypovolemia is a proper medical diagnosis as opposed to the patient bled out after an abortion.)

Then, Ms. Yarrow suggests that to fix the problem of doctors not being willing to kill preborn children, an invasive surgical procedure should be relagated to the confines of the primary care practice.  It never dawns on her that doctors may be refusing to commit abortion because by training and disposition, doctors save lives, they don’t destroy them. Nor does she address the facility inadequacies to deal with the complication of abortions, such as uterine perforation.  Yarrow says, “One in three women in the United States will seek an abortion before she is aged 45 years. For these women, restrictive laws driven by ideology, not science, are undermining the promise of Roe v Wade in many parts of the country.”  Where is the “science” behind Roe Vs Wade?  We don’t know when life starts.  We don’t know when a fetus is viable. Ms. Yarrow is right about one thing, doctors are adverse to malpractice:  it’s bad business for them, bad medicine for their patient.

“The cumulative result of these regulations, the harassment, and the lack of training is a shrinking number of sites that offer abortion services.” laments Ms Yarrow.  Again, where’s the science?  This is nothing more than NARAL diatribe, old diatribe at that. Where’s the survey of former providers where they are asked why they no longer provide abortions.  Former abortionist, Anthony Levatino, M.D., says, “I want the general public to know that the doctors know that this is a person, this is a baby.”  Former abortionist, Joseph Randall, M.D., says, “The picture of the baby on the ultrasound bothered me more than anything else.” There’s more but there are other points to be made.

If we can not get doctors who find their training and facilities inadequate to perform invasive surgeries in their office, lets get nurse practioners and physician assistants to do it.  The Board of Physician Quality Assurance and The Board of Nursing who dictate standard of care (the science and art of nursing and medicine) carefully dictates what these professionals can do.  It’s possible that the political climate could change the standard of care and allow nurse practicioners with specialized training and physician’s assistants with additional supervision to do invasive gynecological surgery, but the abortion clinics would run into the same problem they keep ignoring:  Former abortion counselor, Nita Whitten, says, “It’s a lie when they tell you they’re doing it to help women, because they’re not. They’re doing it for the money.” Debra Henry, says, “We were told to find the woman’s weakness and work on it. The women were never given any alternatives. They were told how much trouble it was to have a baby.”

In Technical Writing, this is called an Editorial despite the liberal sprinkling of scientific fact. If Ms Yarrow knew what she was doing as a writer, her piece would have been called an Editorial, just another volley in the proabortion polemic.  Science has nothing to do with it.

Is a fetus a person?

Is “pro-choice” really a neutral position?

For 40 years since the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision, the abortion debate has been highly charged and politicized. Questions like these—and passionate but widely varying answers—have become the common language of the public dialogue on this issue. Yet behind the scenes of this historic case are other intriguing questions:

·       How did the Supreme Court come to be involved in the abortion debate?
·       Was language manipulated to affect the outcome?
·       What was the moral basis underlying the decision?

In Compelling Interest, author Roger Resler draws on original sources, including the actual transcripts for oral arguments, the majority and minority opinions, and comments by the lawyers and others involved to take a careful look at the real story behind the historic Roe v. Wade decision.

Resler includes conversations with experts, including sociology professor Dr. William Brennan, the late Dr. Mildred Jefferson and Dr. Carolyn Gerster who co-founded the National Right to Life Committee, prolific author and speaker Randy Alcorn, bioethics professor Dr. Gerard Magill, perinatologist Dr. James Thorp, and photojournalistMichael Clancy.

This carefully researched book speaks with a thought-provoking, balanced voice that stands out from the usual partisan rhetoric on the topic.

Praise for Compelling Interest

“This is a must read for anyone, whether you consider yourself pro-life or pro-choice. We must be prepared with factual information, which is what this book gives you. The abortion lobby has fooled the American public far too long. We need to know the truth about abortion and how these laws came to be. Read this book to get the truth.”
— Abby Johnson – Former Planned Parenthood Director – Author of best-selling bookUnplanned

“One could say that as an abortion survivor, I have a compelling interest in the Roe v. Wade decision and the abortion debate that has ensued over the past 40 years. However, I believe that all of us have a compelling interest in knowing how we have arrived at this place of over 55 million lives lost and a world that has been forever changed buy cheap cialis online no prescription as a result. As we mark 40 years of the Roe v. Wade decision, I believe that it’s important that we look at both how we have arrived at this place in time and reflect upon how our cultural landscape has been forever changed. I have found Compelling Interestto be effective at doing just that.”
— Melissa Ohden • Saline Infusion Abortion Survivor – Pro-Life Speaker and Author

“Roger Resler has provided us with a very complete and fascinating history—much of it behind the scenes—of the Roe v. Wade case, the events that led up to it, some of the major court cases after it, a lucid and cogent analysis of the legal issue of abortion, and a thorough rebuttal of the arguments advanced by proponents of Roe’s conclusion. This is a must read for all who work on the legal and ethical aspects of the abortion issue. I cannot recommend this work highly enough.”
— Patrick Lee – McAleer Professor of Bioethics – Director, Institute of Bioethics – Franciscan University of Steubenville

“I found myself absorbed in this book from page one. Roger Resler tells the lesser known story of how Roe v. Wade became the landmark that it is. We cannot understand our current ironic predicament—in which the state turns a blind eye to the elimination of millions of its future citizens—until we know the history of the abortion debate over the last 40 years. All in all, Compelling Interest is compellingly interesting and insightful.”
— Mark Galli – Senior Managing Editor Christianity Today

Germantown Update – 78th Life Saved

Unfortunately Carhart did see 25 women this week…

But 1 life was SAVED!!

On Tuesday “J”, “M” and their young son came into GPC looking for an abortion. They did not talk much but did listen to information about SGPC and realized they lived close to it. They did not want to talk with someone then, but agreed to prayer before they left the office. They did go over to Carhart’s, the man and boy came out to the car, then 6 min after going in she left the office, got in the car and they drove away. Pray they went or called SGPC for an appointment and that they will respond to the information they are offered. Thank God for this gift of life as we begin the new year.

How You Can Pray for Germantown…

Many volunteers and their family members are dealing with illness right now. Pray for quick recovery for everyone who is sick and a decrease in illness as this winter continues.

Thank you to everyone who took time away from their holiday to come and pray on Monday mornings.

This Monday some of you met Phil and some of the men who come and pray with him. They are often up and praying in Germantown early in the morning (5:00am) and return later to pray in GPC multiple times a week. As I was listening to them pray in the backroom, I realized how comforting it is to know people are praying inside and outside of GPC.

This coming Monday is the first meeting for the Germantown 40 Days for Life campaign. The meeting will be in GPC at 7:00. If your church canadian pharmacy viagra has not been involved in this event, you or someone from your church might want to come and find out what it is all about.

Last night there was a power failure at the office which messed up one of our electronic devices.   If you or someone you know is good at reading manuals, working with electronic items and codes please let me know.  When you contact me I will give you more details regarding the item and problem.

The Lie – "Pro-Lifers Only Care Until the Baby Is Born"

Have you ever heard a Pro-abort say that – “Pro-Lifers only care until the baby is born…”?

We thought you might be interested in how the Lord is using Germantown Pregnancy Choices, not only in intercepting women before they enter the Maryland late-term abortion clinic of LeRoy Carhart, but also AFTER these babies are born and as these mothers continue to have needs. Contact Kellie McIntyre if you can help (!

Last year we witnessed a miraculous “save” when Maggie of Fredericksburg, Va., chose to give birth to her baby, Christian, instead of aborting late in her pregnancy. The Lord used Grace Morrison, who was counseling outside the Germantown abortion clinic, as an instrument in helping Maggie make that life-saving decision. Maggie moved her family from Fredericksburg to Gaithersburgwhere she and her four children are being provided free emergency housing by a Covenant Life family!! Given Maggie was a stay-at-home mom and deserted by her husband, she has many immediate and long-range needs, including fellowship of the saints.

Maggie’s needs that have been met so far:

__Steve and Yvonne have taken care of her immediate need for free housing by temporarily providing an apartment (praise God!)

__ We’ve signed her up for a twice-a-month free food run on alternate Thursdays

__ We’re signing her up for free legal counsel through Good Samaritan Advocates

__ We have secured a godly pediatrician for the children (praise God!), whom she is enrolling in local school.

Meanwhile, with no income, no child support and new to Montgomery County, Maggie will need the Body of Christ to help her. Many of you have experience in knowing what services, private and public, are available to indigent moms in crisis.

Some of her immediate needs are mundane, such as:

__assembling her children’s four beds

__size 4 disposable diapers and wipes

__gift cards to food stores

__gasoline gift cards

__medical care for herself.

Other needs are large, such as:

__job training

__child care

__a job

For now the Lord would have me come beside Maggie during her transition, so I covet your prayers and desire any buy amoxil no prescription input, intelligence and/or help you can provide.

I remain your fellow debtor to mercy,

~Kellie McIntyre
