Bethesda Rally – Tuesday (Oct. 17) at 12pm

The pro-life community is quickly rallying together to ensure a powerful, prayerful presence in Bethesda as Carhart begins performing late-term abortions there.  We will be gathering on the first day abortions are scheduled.  Join us on Tuesday, October 17 at 12pm.  It is important for us to have a large presence to let the community and business owners know that we are committed to ending abortion in Maryland.  We need you, your family, and friends to be there!

We will gather on the sidewalk along Old Georgetown Rd. in front of the Wildwood Medical Center at 10401 Old Georgetown Rd. Bethesda, MD  20814.  Between now and Tuesday, please help spread the word about the rally.

We also need to let the management company of Wildwood Medical Center, Aubinoe Management Company, know that we are against the abortions that will be taking place in their building.  Please respectfully call them at (301)986-9070 and let them know we are concerned about these abortions.

And as always, continue to pray!  Because all things are possible through Him, who gives us strength.

Carhart’s return to Maryland

We are still praising God for the closing of both Germantown Reproductive Health Services and Prince George’s Reproductive Health Services.  Both abortion clinics had been a stronghold for the abortion industry in Maryland over the past several decades.  Now they are shut down permanently.  Praise God that the power of prayer has the “divine power to demolish strongholds.”

We are also praising God for the fact Leroy Carhart has not performed abortions for the past two months in Maryland.  Based on his average number of abortions per week, that is over 100 lives spared from abortion!

When we entered into the contract to close the abortion clinics, we knew it was a possibility Carhart could open up shop somewhere else.  And unfortunately, it looks like that possibility may become reality.

It has been reported that Leroy Carhart may be operating at an abortion clinic in Bethesda, MD starting next week.

We take comfort in the fact that God is in control.  His thoughts are higher than our thoughts and His ways are higher than our ways.  The way we think and plan is not always the way God has things planned.

The Maryland Coalition For Life is actively working with local pro-life leaders to establish a plan to continue to come alongside women faced with an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy, mobilize the Christian community to stand against this evil, and “awaken” Bethesda to the horror that will now be taking place in their community.  We are committed to continue the fight for life.  Please pray that God will show all of us how best to be used by Him in this new situation.  And I ask that you will pray for God to give you a personal passion to continue with us in this movement.  “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

We will let you know as soon as we have details regarding any upcoming events or rallies.

Germantown/Prince Georges Reproductive Health Services Closure

The Maryland Coalition for Life (MDCFL) is pleased to announce that as of September 27, 2017, Germantown Reproductive Health Services and Prince George’s Reproductive Health Services permanently closed. Germantown Reproductive Health Services has been the location where notorious late-term abortionist Leroy Carhart performed 2nd and 3rd trimester abortions for the past 7 years.

Since arriving in Germantown, MD in December 2010, the MDCFL has been instrumental in organizing and leading the opposition to controversial late-term abortion procedures. Carhart started practicing abortions in Maryland after Nebraska outlawed abortions past 20 weeks. After his arrival, the local community and churches rallied together like never before to pray during thirteen Germantown 40 Days for Life campaigns, open a pro-life resource center across the parking lot from the abortion facility, and provide help and support to women through sidewalk counseling. As a result of the faithful pro-life community over the past 7 years, we have been blessed to witness over 400 women choose LIFE for their children over abortion.

In 2013, seventeen abortion clinics operated in Maryland with Surgical Abortion Licenses. After the closing of these two abortion clinics, only ten abortion clinics with Surgical Abortion Licenses remain. This accounts for a 40% decrease in surgical abortion facilities over the past 4 years in Maryland. Nation-wide, there are only four abortion clinics that openly provide abortions during the 7th, 8th, and 9th month of pregnancy. With the closure of Germantown Reproductive Health Services, only three remain. This accounts for a 25% decrease in late-term abortion facilities in America. What a testament to the power of prayer, faithful support, and offering of abortion alternatives to women in need.

“Since Carhart’s arrival in Germantown, he has sent at least 10 patients to the hospital in an ambulance. And tragically, at least one patient passed away following a late-term abortion in Germantown. With the closing of Germantown Reproductive Health Services, we are pleased that women will no longer be subjected to these dangerous abortions performed by Leroy Carhart” said Andrew Glenn, Regional Director of MDCFL.

The MDCFL would like to thank all of the donors, supporters, churches, and participants who have supported our efforts over the years and whose sacrifices allowed for this great opportunity.

The MDCFL will continue to work toward the end to abortion in Maryland. We will continue to offer hope and support to women and families faced with difficult or unwanted pregnancies, provide organization and leadership, and support the Maryland pro-life movement as we come closer to ending abortion in Maryland.

The MDCFL asks everyone to continue to pray for Leroy Carhart. Pray that God will change Carhart’s heart and he will receive God’s grace that is able to forgive him of his sins.

Carhart sends 10th patient to the hospital

We reported on Thanksgiving that Carhart had left Maryland and would no longer be performing abortions in Germantown. Unfortunately, this is NOT the case. Thankfully he was absent from Maryland for about 2 months… but has now returned.  And today he has sent his 10th patient to the hospital in an ambulance!  4 years ago, on this date, Jennifer Morbelli passed away after a late-term abortion performed by Leroy Carhart.  How many patients does this aging, out-of-state abortionist need to send to the hospital before he is shut down?  It is only a matter of time before another patient will be killed.

Carhart Back in MD Doing Late Term Abortions Again

We reported on Thanksgiving that Carhart had left Maryland and would no longer be performing abortions in Germantown. Unfortunately, that does NOT seem to be the case. Thankfully he was absent from Maryland for about 2 months… but has now returned. There is also rumor that a new late-term abortionist may be coming to Maryland sometime this year.

We need to pray! We need to continue to pray for Leroy Carhart, the staff of Germantown Reproductive Health Services, and that no other abortionist will come to Germantown. With Carhart’s return, we are planning to have our next 40 Days for Life campaign from March 1 – April 9.

Here is an Operation Rescue article with additional details on his return

HUGE NEWS – Carhart leaving Maryland

This is the news we have been hoping and praying for over the past six years… Leroy Carhart is LEAVING MARYLAND!  Praise God!  This is something we can truly be thankful for today.

This is breaking news and we are still learning the details.  We will let you know when we find out more information about Carhart and what will be happening at Germantown Reproductive Health Services.  Please pray that not only will Leroy Carhart stop performing abortions everyone (not just Maryland), he will not be replaced by a different abortionist, and that GRHS will shut down for good.  And as always, pray that Carhart and the staff of GRHS will find the forgiveness that can only come through Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

For additional information, see the Operation Rescue press release

Thank you for all of your prayers and support!  This is fantastic news after we just completed our 12th 40 Days for Life campaign in Germantown.

Evil Incarnate – Let the truth be known throughout the land

Let us take a moment to examine some defining characteristic of three troubling movements, which have cast long and dark shadows across modern history.

  • Tactics: Terror, mutilation, and dismemberment
  • Human Tragedy: millions of innocent adults and children slaughtered
  • Ideology: that Jews and others are inferior, sub-human, and less than the Aryan race

Radical Islamic State

  • Tactics: Terror, mutilation, and dismemberment
  • Human Tragedy: thousands of innocent adults and children slaughtered
  • Ideology: that all those who oppose radical Islamism are inferior and honor false gods

  • Tactics: Terror, mutilation, and dismemberment
  • Human Tragedy: more than a billion unborn babies slaughtered worldwide
  • Ideology: that unborn babies are inferior, undeserving of all humans rights

These three movements have led to similarly staggering human tragedies justified by illegitimate ideologies. However, abortion uses a tactic that neither Nazism nor the Radical Islamic State widely attempted: to deceive mothers into cooperating with the abortion of their own babies. The deployment of this evil tactic has led to the destruction of more lives than have been destroyed by the Nazism, Radical Islamic State, and all other evil empires combined.

The deception upon which abortion is founded – that abortion is choice and not murder – has been vehemently embraced by some of American society’s most-notables. Among these are influential individuals who claim to be outspoken advocates for women, including contraception pioneer Margaret Sanger, civil rights activist Jesse Jackson, Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards, former Senator Ted Kennedy, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and President Barrack Obama.

While the evil of abortion has the most shattering impact on unborn babies, it has a much broader destructive effect. This watershed atrocity begins with one child, spills over into mothers, fathers and families, and floods across all of human society. In 1986 at the United Nations General Assembly and again in 1994 at the National Prayer Breakfast, Nobel Peace Prize winner Mother Teresa of Kolkata (Calcutta) clearly stated her grave concerns with abortion:

  • “I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another?” (1886)
  • “Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion.” (1994)

Noting Mother Teresa’s concerns, we cannot help but look at the carnage occurring on streets across America: school shootings, rampant homicide, domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and violent breakdown of the trust between citizens and police. Mother Teresa’s worst fears have become a way of life – and it’s not unreasonable to trace this crisis to the devaluing of human life which extends even into a mother’s womb.   The worsening carnage on our streets is a deplorable but ultimately unavoidable result of the carnage of abortion.

In light of this most pressing holocaust, we must not shy aware from truth because it convicts us and our society. Whether complicit or not, all of us – children, mothers, families – are victims of the evil of abortion.   We must all stand together to defend the right to life of all persons, to defend the health and safety of all women, and to defend the liberties upon which our nation was founded.

Maryland Coalition for Life Call to Action

Considering the above information, if you wish to stand together with us in our fight against intrinsic evil and for human life, we urge you to forward this message to everyone you know and can reach. You can help us to spread the truth about the outrage of abortion. Furthermore, we urge you to contact your legislators and implore them to respect the dignity of every human person and put an end to abortion.

As you ponder whether you will stand with us, we leave you with the following words of wisdom:

  • “The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.”

–Albert Einstein

  • “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men should do nothing.”

–Edmund Burke

May we all have the courage and strength to do the right thing!

Leroy Carhart sued by patient

Leroy Carhart, who performs 2nd and 3rd trimester abortions in Germantown, Maryland has been sued by a former patient.  The negligence/malpractice suit was filed against Carhart on September 27, 2016.  For information on the malpractice suit and detailed information on the events surrounding the injury, read the Operation Rescue article:

Please pray for the injured patient, her family, the lawyers representing her, and the judges who will be deciding the outcome of the suit.  And as always, please pray that Leroy Carhart and the staff of Germantown Reproductive Health Services will turn from their evil and find the forgivness that is offered through Jesus Christ.

Aging Abortionist 4 for 4

On Sunday, March 20, six emergency responders in two emergency vehicles rushed a woman to Shady Grove Hospital from LeRoy Carhart’s Germantown, Maryland office, marking the fourth woman in four consecutive months to be transported by ambulance due to medical emergencies related to a late term abortion.  According to eye witnesses, at 6:04 pm an ambulance transported an underage girl to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital after starting an abortion procedure earlier that afternoon.

Executive Director of Maryland Coalition for Life, Andrew Glenn states:  “With this many medical emergencies happening so close together, the Board needs to immediately suspend LeRoy Carhart’s license while these unfortunate incidents are fully investigated.  There have been 7 documented injuries and 1 death here in Germantown and 5 other serious cases from his Nebraska office.  This man is a danger to women, and it is the responsibility of the State authorities to thoroughly examine the competency of this out of state doctor who is nearly 75 years old.”

Germantown Pregnancy Choices will be filing a formal complaint to the Maryland Board of Physicians today to report the medical emergencies that occurred during the last four months.

On December 15 and January 19 ambulances were documented transporting women from Carhart’s office in Germantown. The February 4 ambulance emergency occurred after he stayed late to speak to a group of pro-choice medical students at Johns Hopkins University.

During the question and answer session (min 50:55), a student commented that LeRoy Carhart’s health status had come into question recently in regard to exhaustion and questioned whether there are any regulations affecting the number of hours he could work.  He admitted that he looks “too old,” but denied ever being, “impaired,” despite working long days, 7 days per week, and flying back and forth across the country.

The seven women taken to local hospitals from Germantown Reproductive Health Services at 13233 Executive Park Terrace in Germantown have occurred since July of 2013.  In February of 2013, Jennifer Morbelli died less than 24 hours after Carhart completed the abortion of her 33 week old baby from that same office.  Carhart has been flying to Maryland since December of 2010 to conduct late term abortions after his home state of Nebraska approved the Abortion Pain Prevention Act earlier that year prohibiting an abortion at or past 20 weeks.

Germantown Pregnancy Choices is an office providing resources and referrals for women in crisis pregnancies.  It is located directly across the parking lot from Carhart’s office at 13230 Executive Park Terrace in Germantown, 301-916-5433.

Court of Appeals Decision (Glenn vs. DHMH)

The Court of Appeals decision has been reached in “Andrew Glenn vs. Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.”  And unfortunately, it was a 7-0 decision AGAINST my request for public information.  As a result of this decision, the surgical abortion facilities in Maryland can hide in anonymity behind the government.  This is a very dissapointing decision and will allow the abortion industry to continue to operate with no public oversight.  I also believe this decision will contribute to more and more women being hurt or killed from inept abortionists who come to Maryland to perform risky abortions.

Despite this loss, we know that God is in control and His will is being done in Maryland.  We must continue to raise awareness about the horrible abortionists and evil events taking place in Maryland.  Thank you for your prayers and support throughout this case.
